The future of solar power in Australia
Ultimately, all our power comes from the sun, yet converting solar radiation to electricity is still relatively expensive. But the cost is rapidly dropping. What are the prospects for photovoltaics and solar thermal? At what point do they become competitive and what are the implications for the broader energy generation system?
These issues were considered in a seminar of industry specialists and observers chaired by Tony Wood, Grattan Institute’s Energy Program Director.
