Health Program Director, Stephen Duckett gave a presentation on Grattan’s recent report Perils of Place: identifying hotspots of health inequality at the 5th Rural and Remote Health Scientific Symposium in Canberra on 6 September 2016.
The report focuses on health inequalities between geographically-defined populations and asks:
- Are there places with extreme health inequality that are amenable to action?
- Is place-based targeting an efficient strategy for preventing poor health outcomes?
