Grattan Institute submission to the Standing Committee on Environment and Planning’s Inquiry into Unconventional Gas in Victoria
Gas prices are going up in Australia, especially in Victoria. New sources of supply will help to keep prices down but in Victoria there is a moratorium on conventional gas development. The moratorium has neither addressed the concerns of Victorian communities nor provided certainty for the gas industry. It should be lifted immediately.
