Submission to the Federal Government’s 2017 review of climate change policies

The lack of a credible, comprehensive climate change policy has plagued the Australian political landscape for more than a decade and contributed to the current crisis in the electricity market. The federal government’s 2017 climate change review is therefore critically important for Australia’s economic and environmental future. In our submission to the review, the Grattan Institute describes a policy program that builds on current measures and could attract bipartisan support and ensure Australia meets its emissions reduction targets.
