johnd Dr John Daley is one of Australia’s leading public policy thinkers, with 20 years experience in the public, private and university sectors. He has worked for ANZ and McKinsey in a career that also includes expertise in law, finance, education, and workers compensation.

Dr Michael Fullilove is the Executive Director of the Lowy Institute. He writes widely on Australian foreign policy and global issues in publications such as The New York Times, Financial Times and Foreign Affairs. His latest book is Rendezvous with Destiny: How Franklin D. Roosevelt and Five Extraordinary Men Took America into the War and into the World (Viking).

Dr Jim Minifie is a leading economist and writer, with a strong grasp of the Australian policy landscape. A graduate in applied economics from Stanford University, he worked closely with Australian corporate leaders during his seven years as Chief Economist of the Boston Consulting Group.

Dr John Edwards is a Visiting Fellow at the Lowy Institute, an Adjunct Professor with the John Curtin Institute of Public Policy at Curtin University, and a member of the Board of the Reserve Bank of Australia. From 2009 to 2011 he was Director for Economic Planning and Development for the Economic Development Board of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Policy Pitch is a joint initiative of the State Library of Victoria and Grattan Institute to provide a public interest series on key policy themes.
