Grattan Institute is a think tank founded in 2008 to provide independent, rigorous, and practical solutions to some of Australia’s most pressing policy problems. This is an ongoing, full-time position. As part of our commitment to flexible working, we will consider a range of options for the successful applicant, including remote work. An attractive remuneration package will be offered to secure the right person for this role. The salary band starts at $150,000 pa (inclusive of superannuation) with higher remuneration available based on skills and experience.

I’m not based in Melbourne. Can I work remotely/flexibly?

Ideally, we prefer staff to be onsite, because it can be difficult to work in a small-group situation, support colleagues, and provide immediate feedback etc when staff are remote. That said, we are open to exploring alternative arrangements for the right candidate. This can be explored during interviews.

Is hybrid working an option?

Yes. All Grattan staff are required in the office at least two days a week, with Monday compulsory for all staff.
