In this online briefing, Jordana and Nick will detail the extent of Australia’s maths problem, identify its causes, and explain how governments can solve it.
They will discuss why primary school is a critical time to establish strong mathematical foundations, the results from a new Grattan Institute national survey of primary teachers, and insights from case-study schools on what practices can best support student learning.
Jordana and Nick will outline evidence-informed approaches to maths teaching, and their recommended 10-year strategy to embed these in all primary schools.
Join us to learn how Australia can shoot towards 90 per cent of students becoming proficient in maths – learn all the essentials and get the chance to ask your questions in just 45 minutes.
