Submission to National School Resourcing Board review, Wednesday 21 February
Different interests have competing views about the ultimate goal of government funding to non-government schools in Australia. To cut the confusion, the policy goals of the parental ‘capacity-to-contribute’ element of the school funding formula need to be clarified. In this submission to a National School Resourcing Board review, Grattan Institute’s School Education Program Director Peter Goss also calls on the board to confirm — or refute — the argument that the present funding formula is bias against Catholic schools. If such bias is found to exist, the board should propose a way to remove it.
