The online evolution: when technology meets tradition in higher education

Online higher education providers are in the news, with more than three million people enrolling for massive open online courses (MOOCs) with one provider over the past year. But MOOCs are only one part of the story: traditional on-campus higher education institutions can also be transformed by the online revolution. This report examines the rise of online education, how it could drive a huge change in teaching and learning, and what government should do about it.
