Matthew Bowes is a Senior Associate in Grattan Institute’s Economic Prosperity and Democracy Program. He has co-authored Grattan research on housing policy, land use planning reform, and the state of Australia’s democracy.
Matthew previously worked at the Parliamentary Budget Office and Commonwealth Treasury in various roles analysing personal income tax, budgets, and social policy.
Matt’s other research interests include urban policy, economic crises, and public trust in government. He holds a First Class Honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and a Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University.
